About me
Peter Venn has led the MA in Wildlife Filmmaking Programme at UWE since 2014. Working in broadcasting for 30 years, he joined the BBC in the early 90s before producing with independent production companies specialising in natural history including, Partridge Films, Granada, and Off the Fence. As Series Producer his credits include top rated shows for major international channels, from National Geographic and Discovery to Canal Plus and Arte. As Series and Executive Producer, he supported new teams through the delivery of productions to international broadcasters. Peter has also worked in animal welfare, managing one of the UK’s largest wildlife rehabilitation centres. He has HEA and RGS Fellowship and now focuses on the MA. Student films from the programme have been broadcast, distributed commercially, and won awards at BAFTA, Wildscreen, Jackson Hole and the RTS.
