About me
Steve is a Research Fellow in the Department of Arts and Cultural Industries. His research interests include political film culture, documentary and British film and television. He is PI on the AHRC-funded International Research Networking Scheme, ‘Sustaining Alternative Film Culture’ (2015-7) and Co-I on an investigation of the film and television industries in Bristol, funded by the Higher Education Innovation Fund. He is also co-founder of the Bristol Radical Film Festival; convener of the Radical Film Network, an international network for politically and aesthetically innovative film.
Steve is interested in supervising PhDs on activist film cultures, documentary, exhibition cultures and New Cinema History, and the UK film and television industries.
